Writing Survey
This week I want you to think about a favourite character from a book that you have read. A favourite character can sometimes feel like they are a real person and that you know them very well. They do not always have to be a good character, they could be the evil villain that is always causing chaos and problems for others.
I want you to complete one slide on the link below to introduce your character and identify the features of your character that you like. Show what you know and understand about your character.
PART 1:
Read the 2 adventure stories 'Mac's Short Adventure' and 'Bloddon's Adventure'. Look at the way the stories have been introduced, setting and characters described, identify what the problem is and how it is resolved.
PART 2: We are going to create our own group adventure story. Using the ideas from the stories you have read above we are going to have some fun with our writing and together explore various language features that enhance our writing, aim to use sophisticated, ambitious vocabulary and varied sentences.
Things we must agree on:
We are not to use any names of the students in our class for characters.
We are to write no more than 1 paragraph. Aim to write 3 - 7 sentences.
Everyone must contribute by reading and adding to the story.
The content is to be appropriate for all students of Grade 5 and teachers.
Write your name in brackets after you have written your sentences.
It is your job to edit and check your own writing - do not change anybody else's writing.
